let's ignore the head under water and talk about unrelated things, shall we?

You know when people say my head's barely above water?
Well, I think mine is going under.
Blah.
This last week hasn't been the best. But I don't want to talk about it. Maybe when my head comes up I'll be able to talk about things seriously and actually want to write about the challenges we're drudging through (nothing serious. just the same old, same old... i hate 2011), but right now I just want to turn off my stressing-about-hard-things brain and think of happier times.

Like that one time when...
(get ready for a bunch of things that i want to remember and tell you about and could be their own post, but don't have time for that so just gonna go for it)
Merrimack dressed up in Eli's lobster costume:

(oh, i know that's not enough. don't worry, there's more where that came from)

I hung out with Rachel & her little family:

We played in Boston:

Kaci dressed up like Ocean and my kids were happy about Halloween:

I had an upstate sleep-over at the Rowe's:

I color-organized E&A books:
(they have stayed like this for 3 weeks. i think this could work.)

We made cars out of bookcase boxes:

Central Park got its autumn on:

I did a kitchen wall redo:
I numbered them b/c I had a post planned, so yeah... if you want to know: 1. print the words, painted the hand. 2. a vintage poster minis. 3. knocked off a valentine card. 4. eat on chevron. 5. already-there notes board. 6. b-day flowers from my hot husband.

I watched Colbert's I'm a Catholic. Yaweh!

So there ya go. Things are hard right now, but it will get better, I know. I guess that's one of the benefits of being a real grown-up...you know things will get better. And learning and growing are good things.

Yay for learning and growing. (SARCASM) Period. No exclamation point. Growing is hard and hurts.

Maybe I'm a huge nerd... but I LOVE the idea of color coding the books! I think that might solve a problem over here at our book-loving home (the books end up EVERYwhere)!

P.S. *hugs*

Abbie, in my role as a friend I don't know if I can let you hate an entire year... surely an hour, definitely a week, maybe a month, but I'm not sure about the entire year. :-) I have seen you have way too many really amazing and inspired times this year to use an umbrella term in the middle of an under-water week. Don't tell me that all of the times I've been inspired and engaged by your posts this year has been a big fake, and that you were secretly hating it all along! Nooooo!!!!! ;-)

And, about that green vespa magnet. I have the exact same one! Florence?
